Heater problem

What would cause my heater to not work all the time?

Started my truck early this morning, drove to work and it was working, shut truck off for 1/2 hour then got back in and noticed it was blowing cold air........cold Alberta air

Is it intermittent? Or did it just quit altogether? Might be your heater core?

Yeah it is off and on

i drove 45 minutes then stopped, put my gloves on the dash and it started blowing cold air.

The other time was like i said, drove to work, turned off truck for 1/2 hr then strated it again and immediately noticed it blowing cold air.

I read somewhere else that low coolant level may cause this, any truth?
