as you said: that is my understanding of how the 2005 auto works, T/H only alters the shift points, but does not lock out the O/D.
my travel trailer is not that large, only about 6500#, so it has not been a problem pulling the trailer, but i would like to have the option to lock out o/d so the transmission is not searching for O/D.
However, my only experience has been pulling with an old 3/4 ton chevy gas burner and believe me, it did not want or need o/d when it was pulling.
So I just assumed the Dodge would not need to pull in O/D either.
I believe the new model Dodges do have an O/D lockout option and exhaust brake.
If it becomes a problem, i will purchase one of the BD Diesel Lock out disable units.
But so far the old dodge pulls the trailer great, much better than the old chevy.
