I just picked up a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 short box with a 5.7.The truck runs great and I am learning how all the bells and whistle works. The one problem I have found in the outside air temp. Sensor is reading 130 deg F . Can I replace this with a problem and where is it?
uummm your truck has a 5.9l not a 5.7l unless its a hemi. the sensor can be swapped. pop the hood and look by the driver side head light. you will see a small sensor with a plug attached.

Would the sensor be behind the light and I would be able to see it from under the truck. I have looked and all I see is a 2 wires that are hanging there. Thanks
It's normal for the temps to read high if the truck is stationary, especially if it's parked in the sun. You have to be moving to get an accurate reading.

Would the wires be purple with a green tracer and purple with a yellow tracer.I think the sensor is missing . The reading is 130 all the time moving or not.
