smoking BAD!!!

i put a 4 inch tbe on about two weeks ago with a s&b intake. ever sence then i have noticed a improvment in power and gas milage. well i went for a drive yesterday and when i started the truck i noticed that the exhaust was louder. when i started drive i had way more black smokecommming out the pipe than usual. and it did it for about 10 minutes and then went back to normal.I kind of brushed it off and forgot about it and this mornging i started it up and it did the same thing. i am kind of worried because i dont have anything done to the truck that would make it smoke this much, so i dont know if its a mecanical error, or what.

i also live in warmer weather so it shouldnt have been warming up....

Injector leaking? You running a programmer or stock? If programmer, flash back over to stock and see what it does...

Do you have a plastic end tank intercooler? (early 05 trucks came with them and they have a habit of blowing apart) That being said, it is unlikely that it would stop smoking since it would have an open crack if it failed.

You might try running some powerservice or like type fuel system conditioner/cleaner though the tank. When was the last time you changed your fuel filter?

i changed it about 3k miles ago, it should still be pretty good. and i just rand some fuel lubricante and conditionar through it around the same time on a full tank of fuel. could i have a bad injector? the motor doesnt run different at all it just rolls alot more coal than usual sometimes. it just doesnt seem right.

Mass air flow sensor cleaner is the best because it leaves no residue at all on the surfaces that it is sprayed on. You don't really want to use a brush or anything to clean it, just the solvent.
