Random PLUG, Is it for another set of lights?

So i noticed yesterday that if you open my hood, and look on the right side on the frame next to the headlight bracket, there is a plug there that looks identicle to the plug that factory fog lights plug into (that is mounted on the inside of the bumper). Furthermore, it looks like its connected and Y'd off the same wiring loom that go's to the factory fog light plug.

Any insight on this?

Do you mean the right side as you look at the truck from the front, or as you are sitting in the drivers seat? If you mean the plug below on the drivers side, yes thats the fog light plug. These trucks all come with the same wiring harness, so if you have a model that doesn't have all the features, you have spare plugs all over the truck. You can put fog lights on the truck, but if most of the time you have to have them enabled by the dealership. I believe there have been a few cases where this didn't have to be done, but most of the time they aren't activated

The right side as you look at it from the front of the truck. The fog light plug is mounted on a plastic clip on the drivers side back of the front bumper. This plug i am talking about is on the side of the drivers side headlight bracket and wires into the wire loom that the fog light plug comes from and the plug is identicle to the fog light plug.

Were these trucks also wired with another light plug for possibly snow plow lights or something?

The Ambient Temperature Sensor is mounted just inboard of the drivers headlight. Does your Temp. work on your overhead?

A picture would help...

Ahhh that may be what it is. I am one of those guys without a overhead console but I have the digital one on my odometer screen and yes it works. It did look like it was plugged into some type of small black box I figured that was just like a plug terminator to keep stuff out but it's probably the temp sensor. Thanks!

Yep, figured that was it, as far as I know there is no other plug in that area...
