I am ready to install an REC nav radio and need to know where the antenna sits. Some say it's in the center of the dash but i have a speaker there. I can't shrink the j peg size to upload a pic.
Are you sure there is a speaker there? I know the hole looks like a speaker hole but it may be an empty space under it. My current truck DOES have a speaker there so I just put some 3M tape on the back and mounted the antenna on TOP of that top dash piece. The wire comes from the front side so you cannot see it. Looks factory....

I removed the dash piece last nite to find a speaker in that location. I have read in the past that the speaker sitd in a cubby location under there. Problem is the nav unit i got from E BAY and the antenna wire is short not sure if it is for the ram. Thanks
Sounds like you got the "Laramie" or the Upper end sound system in your truck like I have in mine.
I put my Nav antenna in the next "pocket" to the right and closer to the windshield using two sided tape. (It doesn't have to be in a "grill" spot. The Nav antenna works through the solid plastic close to the windshield)

Thanks that was the answer i was looking for. I am suprised it can see through plastic cover. Where does the factory install it, also truck is a Laramie.

I don't know where the the factory puts it in the Laramie as mine was installed by me. In the units that don't have the high end sound system they put them where the small speaker is in the middle of the dash.
