my 06 seat fix

I searched all over on what year seats fit in what truck and found nothing so I took a leap of faith. I bought some seats from a guy that were in a 2004.5. The material and foam is much better and lasts longer on the 05 and older trucks in my opinion. Here is what I had to do to make it work.

first, the drivers seat, I had to use the original 06 floor mounting bracket and hardware....four bolts take the seat off the floor bracket. if you do this all the original plugs line up including the plug for the seat plug for all the switches from the 04.5 seat as well as the seat belt sensor.

second, the center console, all the bolts line up but, you have to swap out the very bottom plastic storage liners. the liner from the 04.5 was too deep. so I took the liner out of the 06 and it lined right up and worked great.

third, the passengers seat, I changed nothing from the 04.5 frame or seat. I just had to take the airbag sensor off the 06 seat frame and put it on the 04.5 frame.

the rear seat needed absolutely nothing just unbolt and re-bolt.

hope this helps anyone else looking to do the same....they are so much more comfortable!

Good info man, looking forward to the pics....the foam on my driver seat is breaking down pretty badly on the toward the door side, and has been quite a while. I could understand this if I was a bigger fella, but I've never weighed more than about 160 in my life...the seat is also star got some tiny rips in it (leather seats), and this is annoying too. I am going to look into having the seat refoamed and recovered before i go as far as to change the seats.

Has anyone tried to fit a pair of GM front seats in?
Don't know how much longer my back can take, riding around on a park bench.

Not to Hijack, but I'll tell ya what burnt my a$$ I went from an 03' SLT that had power lumbar, to an 06' Laramie that I have to twist a knob in...ain't that just some BS!...I will have to agree with ya though Nitro these seats leave A LOT to be desired when it comes to comfortableness.

Not yet. I was hoping to put GM seats in mine too. I prefer the integrated arm rest.

Nice job Rocky5. I agree that the 04 seats were way better then the 06 seats. PICS?

Yeah and it barley moves anyway.

I was thinking that an ext. cab GM backseat would fit in the backseat of the QC's.

I put leather heated seats from an 04 Laramie in my 03 with cloth... The new seats are sooo nice and plush compared to my cloth 03's! got all seats front and back for $550 on ebay. Well worth the investment.
