A/C Compressor Clutch Bearings

I have a squeak noise coming from a bearing in my A/C clutch. I removed my belt and spun the pulley and it did not spin freely like it should. How hard is it to remove? In the service manual it says you need a couple of special tools. How expensive is a new compressor? My A/C doesn't work the greatest either. It seems to frost up. The airflow in the cab will slow down until I shut the A/C off and then it will speed up after it thaws out. Is it too low on refrigerant?

On my 06', I am currently working on some AC problems. You can remove the compressor in 20-30 mins. Just evac your system and there are 4 13mm bolts, you'll need a socket with 12" extention to get the top 2 bolts and a 13mm wrench to get the bottom 2. The AC lines are held in by 1 10mm bolt, a wrench will work fine. Pull it out the bottom...pretty simple process.

There really is no telling what the problem is with your AC.....these have the worse system I have ever come across.

Good luck getting it fixed sir, sorry I couldn't offer anymore help.

Also, there are a few members that I have come across who have purchased rebuilt compressors from a place in Dallas called Gold Auto Recycling for $140 w/ 1 or 2 year warranty. I didn't use them but it may be worth checking out.
