jerking from the steering wheel?

So here is the story. My 2006 started with a jerking in the steering wheel, kept getting worse, finally brought it to the dealership. they look it over and said everything is fine (28000 miles) the jerking is from my tires(mickey thompson mtz 315 70 17 with level kit, stock wheels) then they came back and said my tierods were starting to wear a little and they ended up talking me into an 08 steering upgrade. went home and problem was still there, put some spare tires on but they were wore, still there, just getting worse. any thoughts on what it might be? seems worse at slow speeds thanks

Is the wheel jerking when turning??? Sounds like front axle U-joints.. My 2006 went out last winter with 50,000 on the clock steering wheel jerking like in four wheel drive on dry pavement except i was in sloppy mud in 2 wd.. Both front axle U joints were frozen up I gained 1-1.5 mpg after fixing too...tells how bad the binding put a drag on the truck...

NOTE: the bearings are a drag to get out. a Snap-On DHP1 hub press works well to remove......MAKE SURE you clean and anti-sieze the ubs when u put back together.

Sounds like same bumpsteer issue i have been chasing in my truck, posted same type issue over in the suspension forum and ban89 & those guys had some good input, mine is looking alot like an alignment issue but has taken some time to narrow it down, i had done suspension, steering and dynatrac hub conversion all at once so it has made isolating the prob alot more difficult, but one thing that helpedd quite a bit was the carli low mount steering stab.
