5/100,000 or 7/100,000 — the argument has nothing to do with the duration of the Cummins Diesel Engine Limited Warranty but rather when the warranty begins. The Warranty Information Booklets for, at least, model years 1999-2002 explicity state in elementary school English that the Basic Warranty and the Cummins Diesel Engine Limited Warranty run consecutively rather than concurrently.

A read of Code of Federal Regulations, Title 16, Part 701 as well as the appropriate Warranty Information Booklet should give any Cummins/Ram owner an unbiased interpretation of their various warranties.

Asking DaimlerChrysler to interpret the warranty is like asking the fox to guard the henhouse.

I won, well sort of.

After reading an old TDR link some one replied with I located Thomas' post on that site, which unfortunatly I do not subscribe to, so I can't get in to P/M him from there. However, I believe he is on Cummins Foum under Hotdog. If any one subscribes to TDR could you P/M him for me?

Anyway, on with my story, after my posts I sent numerous letters to Dodge requesting money back under the Warranty, they denied it all the times. I sent a demand letter based on Thomas' through a lawer and it was denied, the Nebraska Attorney General sent numerous on my behalf until Dodge simply wrote back that no further letters sent to them would be read.

Well, I decided to file in small claims court as no lawyers are allowed in those proceeding here, I figured I would have the edge. The judge ruled in my favor! Unfortunatly for me Dodge appealed to district court and I lost, plus have to pay Dodge's filing fees for the appeal, another 115.00 down the drain..

Now I am confronted with possibly appealing it to a appeals court, this is where I need some help. If I can get ahold of Thomas and speak to a lawyer, I could possibly have his records brought forth in the proceeding (notorized) and show them that Dodge has paid claims before that were outside the magical 7/100,000 and are just stonewalling. As a matter of fact the lawyer for Dodge called me and said they would pick up the fee I was carged (115.00) if I just dropped it. I have until Friday of next week to submit my paperwork if anyone knows him pass along my request if you would. Maybe if I get this through there will be hopes for all you who got pressed out of coverage before.

Diesel Cop you have a 2003 which is a 3rd gen truck which only has a 5 year/ 100,000 mile warranty that starts from day 1 of the truck. Dodge has the right to choose to help customers or to not help customers after the warranty expires. It is total up to them on what they want to cover and not cover.

you have to go to the dealer WITHIN 30 days of the title bing transfered, it cost $100. But heres the catch, you can only transfer the warranty to the second owner, if you are the third owner you WILL HAVE NO WARRANTY. i found that out, dealer took a truck in on trade, guy bought it and transfered warranty, guy had truck repoed. i bought it and since i was third owner, NO WARRANTY. sucks but thats life. luckily i work for international and we work on Cummins, Caterpillar, Detroit, and International engines, service manager already warrantied a set of injectors for me.

guys, read your warranty books. for the 2004.5 model truck, it clearly states that the cummins engine warranty begins when the 3yr 36k ends.

As I have had it explained to me the Cummins warranty ends when the OD reads 100,000 miles no if and ans or buts. The part of the Cummins starting after 3/36 is so that during the first 3/36 period you don't have to pay the $100.00 deductible like you do after the 3/36 dodge warranty ends.
