Are catalytic Converters Worth Any $$$$?

Are catalytic converters (or factory exhaust) worth any thing? My factory exhaust has been sitting my garage for about 2years, and i was wondering if it was worth my time to try and sell it

thanks

yes, I would hang on to it as Cali owners who yanked their cats & didnt save them are going to need then in 2010, should be able to sell it easily (I'd think) starting in January 2010...

Can you resale a Cat? Isn't there some kinda law against it on used equipment? I know that wrecking yards have to cut them out and destroy them, same with air bags...

Not that I am against selling one.. I would just got to watch out for the law to bite you in the Ars

Private parties can sell anything that is not a controlled substance Businesses however, I do not know for sure.

I see in your sig that you have a dead truck... what happened?

recyclers love them....the best are from little sports cars and they pay the most from them....I took a couple in with some old dead batteries I wanted discarded....got over 100.00 for just the cat's and they were not the preferred ones.......recycled an old F350 cab and chassis after pulling the Dana front and Sterling rear axels....got about 800.00 for it and a F150 frame and cab...saved the bed and rear for a utility trailer........not sure how that happened?....I was thrilled!.......got rid of the junk and cash in pocket....that quicly left.....

double post. I remember it being illegal in CA, not sure where I heard. I know that to pass smog you can't just put on an aftermarket one, they need to be approved by some governing body. I remember looking for a hi-flow cat for my Pontiac GTP and they were not smog legal in CA, some CARB B.S., but many places don't check type, just visual that you have one.

I removed my catalytic converter and my MPG's dropped! What happened and how do I counter act that? No other mods as of yet.
