Blower motor replacement

So I think I need to replace my blower motor (got the playing card in the spokes sound)... I talked to the local dealership and they said to replace the resistor at the same time, any experience either way?

the resistor pack is located underneath the glovebox and there is 2 screws and 1 harness holding it in i got one from carquest yesterday for 62 bucks (over 100 in canada). as far as i know if you have all of your fan speeds there is nothing wrong with this part (resistor pack)
