Help! No windows
Alright guys on my way home to visit my parents this weekend my windows completely quit working. I am pretty certain that is the switch. I started to roll the window down and then it just wouldn't roll down like I lost power to the switch, so I wiggled the switches around a lil bit and got it to roll back up ( it was only about 1/4 way down) and no I have zero power to the switch. The mirrors and door locks still work but no power to the window switches ( the little lights in the switches dont even light up) None of the other doors have any power to them either. I checked all my fuses still good, took the door apart and it hasn't come unplugged. SO my question to you is 1st) has anyone else had this problem and 2nd) do you think its that relay in the door that has gone bad because I'm pretty certain that relay runs the main circut for the rest of the windows. any help is appericiated

check the power window fuse. the ignition works off of this fuse as well, but it is a two sided fuse. i tried to put a smoke switch on my truck and blew this fuse. the windows would not work. i jiggled the shyte out of em. checked the fuse, and wah lah. the fuse box will have it listed as ignition / power windows i believe.

thanks I checked the fuse pannel and pulled out what I assumed would be any fuse that went to it because I didnt say any of the panel labled as power window.... I will check that ...It just didnt make any sense to me why when I jiggled the switches the first time it rolled the window back up but then later when I tried to roll em back down they wouldnt budge... Ya know now that I think about it, it done this to me one time before but it was quick and stoped I wiggled them and they worked again and haven't had any problems since... that was 6 months ago though

yea I am leaning more towards the switch becuase it just didnt act like it was an immediate thing like a fuse blowing kinda like a circuit going bad in the switch relay... I dunno... I was hoping someone else had experienced this same problem.... Its frustrating not being able to roll your windows down when ya want and being tomorrow is the 4th and here in Indiana no dealerships parts depts are open its going to be at the earliest monday before I can have windows again

could be your switch panel, if that doesnt work grap the wire where they go between the body and the door and give a swift yank. fixed mine that way, apparently i had some loose wiring.

well I took the control pannel appart and where the wires connect to the relay its self I have found the problem.... it seems that somehow I got a short in there and it has melted the plastic that all the wires are connected into, and it has melted all the plastic to the connectors hince killing all my power to the switch!
