It is a legal issue. The wheelbase would be too long to have DC market it as a non-commercial vehicle. Insurance, etc.

There are a few companies doing longbed and longbed dually conversions. Don't know them off the top of my melon, but I'm sure someone will chime in.

If Dodge made a mega cab long box, it would probably be about 7-10" longer than a crew cab long box Ford. I would expect the Mega cab long box conversions to be about the same, maybe a little less.

driving the mega is like driving a bus as it is. I can't understand why anyone would want a long bed. Sure you could fit more in it and have more room for a 5th wheel but, IMO.... a long bed doesn't look very good when the truck it so long as it is.

well for me pulling a gooseneck as much as I do... a long bed is a must, for the places I've got to get in and out of..... I've been plenty close the the cab on a long bed..... I know I'd have kinked the back of the cab if I did have a short bed.

from what I figured up from some dodge literature... it should be about 22ft. from bumper to bumper.... and I dont think it's too much longer than a Ford.

I think the megacabs look dorky with a small bed.... Then long box duallys are awsome..... Too much truck for such a small bed.

I gotta have a long bed. I cram it full as it is! I also like being able to slide 4x8 plywood under the tonneau cover and shut the tail gate.
