As I indicated, the non-resonator version.

As stated, the 4040 not the 4040XL. The engine sound is the loudest item, now, and even that is muted.

Did any of you guys that have the 4040XL notice any mpg improvment like they claim? I checked mine last tank and I had a .8 mpg increase. Granted it was only 1 tank.

So you guys who say it's no more loud/annoying than stock seem to be the ones leaving the stock cat in place. From all my experience in dyno testing my cars pre/post catalytic converter, it's painfully obvious that a cat hurts performance. Especially in anything that uses forced induction. So why upgrade your exhaust at all? Just for sound (ricers!)? LOL!

I would take my cat off, but then it wouldn't pass inspection. As soon as I get to the mainland, it's coming off. So yeah, I put my muffler on for just sound. I like my trucks to sound like a truck.

Yeah makes perfect sense. That Cummins could be mistaken for a Yaris at any time. LOL!

I had one, great sound but huge drone at 60mph with a slight load such as a hill or towing My kittly ran away so maybe that has part to do with it. My magnaflow is great no drone, good sound when on it and it seems to have better throttle response with Mganaflow.

I had mine installed last summer. It was louder undel exel and idle, but at cruising speed pretty good. I did get much better milage towing. Hand calc'd milage befor towing RV (10K lbs) I was getting 14-15 MPG. After install of 4040xl I got 17-18 MPG. I was very happy with the results. Worth the money I'd say. Towing in the mountains does get kinda loud after a while .. but with the money I save I can get some top line hearing aides !
