Does anybody know the bulb type or part number for the 3rd gen dash lights. Hoping to order without having to take dash apart to see. Thanks in advance guys.:thumbsup and yeah I know I put 3rg gen instead of 3rd, if any mods want to change it feel free.
Man I have looked the service manual over. I can't find anything other than it is an incandescent cluster illumination lamp bulb. Definetly a Mopar part number, just can't seem to locate it in the book.
I can tell you that is says many times to be sure to disable the airbags to ensure they don't accidentally deploy...as they may cause death. And it also advises you to disable the remote keyless entry if you have it.
My guess is you will have to go to Mopar for a replacement.
Is is just one, or the whole lot of them?
If all of them it might be a bigger problem from their test procedure....like PCI (Programmable Communications Interface) data bus failure, fuse problem, PCM (Powertrain Control Module), the ECM (Engine Control Module), or the
FCM (Front Control Module).
It also warns to ensure that you use the correct bulb to replace it as the wrong style or size could result in overheating which will damage the instrument cluster, the electronic circuit board, or the gauges.
Again, if only one I would take it to Dodge. If all of them a scan tool is needed to diagnose.

Thanks for checking man. Guess I got lucky on the airbag, my roommate "found" one were he works and got it going, I was hoping to change the color while I was there but that dosn't look like its going to happen, oh well. thanks again.
I'm betting the bulb number would be a "74".....commonly found at your local parts store, also, the type number should be on the glass portion of the bulb.
The HVAC lights are not the same as the gauge lights, for the dash lights see Cepp, chick(en) hauler designs, as for the HVAC, best I can tell you is DC
well I ordered one new light for my hvac controls on friday and it will be dropped off this afternoon. I also went to the autoparts store and got a # 37 bulb to see if it works too. The dealer wants about $2.00 each for their lamps but I got a two-pack for $2.99 at the parts store so it wouldn't surprise me to see the same bulb. I will let you know what it comes out to be when I get to it.
