Question Power Inverter

I have a 07 Megacab and am looking for a place to mount a 1000 watt power inverter. Cant mount it under the back seats due to the way they fold down. The passenger seat has the jack under it. The driver seat is electric and the motor for that is under that seat. I wanted to mount it to the back wall of the cab with some self-tapping screws but it is not double-walled. Was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions or tips. I already have the inverter, I am just looking for a way o mount it so it looks clean and professional.

I think you mentioned the solution, the jack, look at it, does it really look like something that will suit the jacking needs of your truck ? toss it and mount inverter under the seat, get a real jack to keep in the tool box in the back of the truck.

exactly what I did with my inverter. I mounted it under the passenger front seat and threw the jack in the tool box in the bed of the truck......And even if you do buy another jack don't throw that one out because your goin to need it to drop the spare from the bottom of your truck with all those attachments!!!!

I haven't gotten an inverter yet, it's on the list of crap my wallet doesn't support, but my plan is to mount it in the lower storage section of the center console and install the outlets in some of that blank space around the cup holder area.

Don't they need adequate ventilation? I wouldn't think the center console would provide that.

Maybe, depends on how big it is and how hard you are going to run it. Not that i need to, but if I HAD to go that big, and run it THAT hard, and HAD to mount it there, you may be able to wire up a 12v fan under there and vent the hot air out the bottom or something. Like I said, I'm still in the "dreaming" phase of that project!

The reason that it is a 1000 watt is because I got a good deal on it. I only payed 30 bucks for it. Just want to put it to use.

You could mount it to the cab wall in the rear using those large rubber plugs lined with a threaded sleeve. Sorry dont know what they are called. When you screw into them they compress the rubber a bit and give you a snug and vibration resistant mount. I used them to mount an amp. Lowes has em.

$30, it does work right??? that is a HELL of a deal for a 1000wt. inverter!!!! if u plan on useing it alot, i would'nt mount it in the underneth arm rest compartment. 1000wt. inverter will b real tight in there & it will need room 2 breath!!!!

the biggest u can get that plugs right into your lighter is 400wt, bigger than that has 2 be direct wired to the battery. 400 will run laptop, 25in tv. it should b big enough for what u want. new 400wt. around $35. get a brand name when u get 1.
