hey just curious has anyone ever put aux backup lights that fold down so that they are out of the way when you don't need them if so what did you do and is there an aftermarket product for this can,t see when backing up thanks
I have small (1.5"x3.5") 55w lights on my chevy that I bought at auto zone and I mounted on the underside of the bumper and are controlled by a toggle switch (for tailgaters). They work good and were only ~$20. They don't fold or do anything fancy but they are low profile which is nice.
I am currently installing some back up lights on mine. I can't see anything while backing up when I get to work in the morning.
I went a bought some cheap fog lights from Wal Mart. I am mounting them up behind the bumper on the frame rails. They will light up the whole underside of the rear of my truck. I have a 3th light I may mount on the top of the bulkhead of the bed. Dunno about that one yet though. I will try and post pics when I get done. I am not a regular on this forum, so I may forget.
thanks everyone i thought about mounting them rigid but my luck something will happen and the first time i go on the road something, somehow will break um
Also, a really god idea is to mount one on each fwd cab mount bolt facing rear at a ~45* angle. It really helps when turning in reverse!
...something like this only angled a bit more out and back
