I know, I know its a big lifted truck but my mileage has fallen way off. My commute is about 90% highway. I used to get 16-18 on a regular basis depending on my foot. Been noticing a difference here lately so I checked when I filled up and I'm getting 12.5. What's the deal with that. What are you other guys getting?
I get around 19-21 in the truck in my sig. Its on 35x13.5's currently. How many miles on your truck? You could have a bad injector, cp3 lift pump... anything can affect your mpg. Hows your filter look?
I filled up in Canada one and ended up averaging about 13 out of ghat tank for some reason. Different fuel quality maybe???
Injectors and cp3 have all been replaced within the last year. Afe intake is not freshly cleaned but not super dirty either. Is anyone running any kind of additive in their fuel that helps? I know a lot of guys run 2 stroke oil, does it help? BTW, the ole girl has about 145 on the clicker.
Had a buddies 06 valve cover gasket/ wire harness crap out and he was only running on 3 cylinders and took a mpg loss. Unless driving it hard it wasn't really that noticeable that 3 cylinders were down.
I run Walmart 2 cycle oil but its more for lubricity since the ultra low sulfur fuel had no lubricity. Its never affected my MPG though.
Apparently my fuel filter and air filter were extremely dirty. Had the oil/fuel filter changed today and also cleaned the ole AFE. This thing drives like a new truck. Its funny how that power slowly slips away.
Subscribing... I have the same issue, when I bought it overheard would read 19-22 and 550+ dte. Hand calc to about 16.5-17. Now overhead reads 12.5-14 Hand calcs 12.5 and dte is 450 or less at full fillup. Could my added 2 mic ontop of factory filter be killing it?
dang i want to know how you are in the 18 mpg range i drive my truck easy and have almost the exact same truck and get 15-16 some where in there. how many miles do you average on a tank ? what injectors did you switch to ?
I didn't think so but figured maybe trucks working that much harder to get the right fuel. I knew overheads usually whacked out. So what's everyone see for miles from full to empty(fuel light) for miles? Just curious that's all
I usually go around 550-600 miles between fill ups but I never run it til the light is on. only did that once in the past 6 years. I avg 17.5-20mpg depending on if I use it on the highway at all or just in town idling a lot.
Awesome thanks. I see about 450ish which seems pretty low to me. Like I said I know overhead lies. But it used to say 550ish DTE and now it's 425-450. Consistent 11.5-12.5 mpg
I recently did a g56 swap on my truck, sold the 48re to someone semi local. During the transaction we chatted off & on quite a bit, he mentioned his mpg from the start was always in the 12-13 mpg range (megacab) and measured that driving up for his install (225 mi or so iirc). Got a call from him the next day and he mentioned he got 18.3(?) mpg on the trip home after the install. All hand calculated. That wa sthe first time he had been out of the 12-13 mpg range and was so happy.
His trans was all stock, tc was stock. Mine had a heavy duty triple lock converter (no name brand), alto red eagle clutches, gm governor, billet accumulator and several sonnax valve body fixes in place. I was always in the 17-18 mpg range on the hiway with 3" lift, heavy tonneau cover and the heavy wide pro comp tires.
The point is there could be a trans issue...
