ok so I have a 2003 3500 dually conversion and have had some tail light issues here recently that are blowing my mind.about a month ago my passenger side running light went out. this side has about a six month old replacement board. turn signal works and brake works. this morning I find the drivers side is also in the same predicament. I have checked all bulbs, fuses, and connections. really need some help with the issue an I have no ding or lamp out indicator light, just no rear running lights. still have brakes and signals on both. please help.
that's my plan later after work but I just can't believe that both boards would go at about the same time. these lights on these trucks are not the greatest set up IMO.
Check the circuit board underneath the fuse box under the hood had thrle same issues and that cb isknown for blowing open cause its open to the elements and corrodes. The name of the unit slips my mind but someone here will know and its a common problem from what I gather. Not complicated to fix yourself tho
FCM is what's its called. Google it and search tons of info on it. http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/3...-lamp-out-light-low-beam-out-fcm-problem.html don't let the dealer charge u $700+ for it like the tried to charge me. If its that ull c the problem and can fix it with a soldering gun and some solder for free like i did. The fcm is located under the hood under all the fuses. U gotta take them all out (make sure u know where they all go back) then pop it out and look on the underside of it for damage. Should b obvious. Only took me a couple hours in my driveway
