Hello everyone, I recently purchased a QCLB cummins and am having some issues with the trailer wiring. The previous owner added a 6 round plug in the bed by using quick splices causing the factory harness to begin to call apart. I first noticed a potential issue when i backed up to fifth wheel, hooked up and my brake controller led lit up for a minute, then went out soon as I pressed the brakes. So yesterday I went and cut out all the crappy wiring and began to rewire. The wires are coded as follows I believe-
Black-Ground
Black-Ground
Light Green- Turn signal
Yellow- Turn signal
Brown- Parking lights
White with green stripe- Reverse lights
Dark Green- Brake controller output
Red with violet? stripe- Fused 12V
Now here is my issue. All turn signals, park lamps, and reverse light wires function as they should. My only issue is my dark green brake controller output is constantly hot, and stays hot with a press of brake pedal. And the Red with violet stripe, which should be my constant hot, is dead.
I have checked fuses for the power wire and cannot find any blown fuses unless there is a fusible link somewhere? And im assuming the brake controller being constant hot like it is, is due to faulty brake controller wiring or a faulty brake controller itself being as the led no longer functions when hooked up to a trailer.
Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.
