Silly Question

Does anyone have a problem with their driver side window freezing up during the winter? Mine freezes up constantly. It only seems to be that particular window doing it. Maybe I blow too much hot air and it freezes...Anyone?

For those of us from the sunny ( and much warmer ) Okanagan that is a very silly question. However as a former Northern Albertan I can advise that a frozen driver side window is not uncommon. I usually found that it would thaw itself out in about half an hour of running, or just about when you arrived where you were going.

Truck parked outside? Driver's window facing the weather (wind, rain, etc)?

D-Roc,

Similar problems here, but I have found that if after washing you hand dry the window gasket (rubber) the the window edge, much less likely. the other thing I do is wipe the gasket with a silicone lubricant which helps a bunch too.

If you park ouside and it rains or snows, it's gona freeze. Get a couple of good magnets and a plastic bag large enough to cover the window.....it works very well .:thumbsup

Someone told me a long time ago to get some motor oil and just wet the door seals, I would think just enough to cover them good but not to have them be dripping, unless you want oil down the window. Never tried it but I would think it would work.
