So on my way to work today I blew a 295/65/18 duratrac. Some foreign steel on the road.
Called to order 2 new tires, and put one used tire on a spare rim.
Apparently there is a national back order on these size of duratracs and they only had one!!
Can't find one anywhere.
Opinions of running a new tire on the front diff with the other tire being 6/32 less tread?? Till June or so. Lotsa highway driving. Probably 9k
I won't do it on the rear axle. And don't think it can be good for the front. The spiders might be going crazy.
I know what's happening in the diff with different circumference tires. But is it that bad on a open diff?
My only other option would be to buy two tires close to the same size and not use 4wd. But added cost etc
Opinions please?
