I did some searching, but i couldn't really narrow down the issue. First inclination was the motor is out, but after reading i see it could be a couple things so here is what i know. All of the sudden yesterday, the rear drivers window just wouldn't move. I tried it today from the drivers door, and the actual rear door itself and nothing. The lights on each switch are on on the drivers door. I don't hear anything when trying to roll the rear one down, and all other windows are working properly. I haven't had the chance to pull the door panel off yet. Any ideas?
You saved my life! 105 degrees here in Georgia and the window never went up again. Opened the door and everything’s looking good. So I came up to this thread. Thank you! 🙌🏻👊🏻🚀
bigtexss is most likely right. Dodge used cheap wire from Mexico on those trucks that isn't flexible enough. The strands actually break inside the insulation. If you open the boot up between the cab and door, the wires are usually pinched somewhere because of incorrect amount of slack and then they break because of inferior material.
The other possible problem is the circuit board behind the switch could be bad. Some people have had the solder on the boards crack and break connection. Some have soldered back together themselves, some replace the board.
Easy way is to cut open the black rubber harness protecter from the door to the cab of the truck and find what wire is broke, cut and soder( or butt connector) the wire. Then just tape the black harness up
There is an excellent write-up on this forum as a DIY fix. Step by step, without cutting or causing more damage. Do a search...pwr door lock is common also.
Thanks for the help guys seems I have the same problem go figure huh?
