Is it to much to ask to find a 06-07 with little or no rust in the Midwest? Would the below pictures keep you from buying an otherwise perfect truck? There is some more surface rust in spots. Mainly on the wheel wells and bottom rocker panels. Has chrome trim in the wells so it's hard to see how far up it goes. Rant off.
Ive seen 08 and 09 a hell of alot worse. I swear some people never wash their vehicles. My 07 Chevy is rust free with 110,000 mi. The 07 Chrysler mini van is starting to show rust with only 78,000 miles. Bought them both used last year.
Yes I'd go the other way unless the pictured truck is under $20k. I assume you are from the upper midewest? The general population up here is too dumb to take care and prevent anything. To keep mine clean its an obsession. Wash minimum of once a week during winter. Lots of clean up, painting and polishing in spring. Lots of spraying of anti-corrosion stuff in fall.
My 05 doesnt have any surface rust, just "corrosion" on the frame. Keep looking or take a road trip to North Carolina, South Carolina Georgia etc to find a salt free truck.
TN, OK, TX, AL, AZ, LA are also awesome typically rust free states. Mine came from TX. 4 years later its still completely rust free on the body. Frame needs some attention every spring.
My 03 has no rust but it spent the first 6 years in texas . Now in southwest ohio after this winter who know if it will stay rust free! I hope it does I hate rust !!!
all that chrome add on junk just makes it worse! Gives the salty water/slush more places to hide. all you need to do is look at the pics to see where most of it started.
I paid 9500 for my 04.5 146000 miles bone stock with a ny body its saveable but needs rockers I found the other day a beautiful 06 by me with 74000 miles for 29k he also had a 08 with 72000 miles for 30k
That's the truck when I got it in the pic I HATE the color but was a good deal
