the tach does not work properly. the engine rpm stays up 3-4 sec's after i let off while in park. it shows no rpm's at idle most of the time and will show 4200 rpm at WOT in park. is this normal?
So like it has the problem like some where it needs to be resoldered or replaced mine sits at 3-4 idle but bounces to 7-8 sometimes so I know mine has the problem with it
The fix does seem to work, but mine was only temporary. I did it again while I had the dash out changing the evaporator core. I had also read, here probably, the someone fixed theirs by leaving the screws around the tach a little loose. I reflowed the solder and when I tightened the screws around the tach, I snugged them and backed them off a 1/4 turn. So far so good. I beats replacing the cluster.
