Take a look at pic # 80 in ( lift pump how i do) I have read all this and more imfo on filtration. I to agree that filtration is the key. FYI catapellar mandates the use of these filters to maintane warrantty, also known as cat spec filters. Thats what i have had on my truck for two years now. I cut every fillter change open, check to see what i see. There is a grate artical in filtskleen.com that also explains how the new diesel brakes down and creates its own media. one thing is for sure (i my opinion) 1 stock filter,even if it is the new wazoo 7 micron unit dos not cut it.
