First off- I have never used one of these but I have done a little bit of research on em... SO- my theories have little to no evidence but I throw em out there anyways cause hey, they're just theories. Anyways, I would venture to say that whatever they say they can get with a gasoline, you're only gonna see about half those benefits in a diesel. If in fact these things do work and made (say 30% better fuel economy) I'd be suprised to see 15% in a diesel. My reasoning is: this hydrogen is mixed into the air stream of the engine at a certain rate (I'm betting that the Hydrogen processor can only make a set amount (or lower) but you won't be able to get a "diesel version" with higher output. Now, think about the air to fuel mixture of a gasoline compared to a diesel. A turbo diesel pumps in a LOT more air than a regular gasoline does. If you have the same volume of hydrogen put in a lot larger air volume, you're not gonna see as much improvement in fuel economy, power, etc. That's my theory, feel free to add or subtract to it. :thumbsup Maybe if you could get a "high output diesel version" then it might work better... but if they made that, then I'm sure they could probably make a gasoline run off of it solely... but then we'd have a hydrogen internal combustion engine wouldn't we? Even at that point though, I bet it would tax your electrical system so heavily that you would eventually lose your benefits over your costs.
