Thanks guys!! Kevlars,,,,These are desert Mule deer not Whitetails. They eat sage. I lived up in northern New York near the Adirondack mountains. The Whitetail deer were from the 160's to well over 200 pounds. These Mule deer average from 120's to over 200 as well at very high elevations. I'm not much of a hiker anymore nor am I a trophy hunter. What I did accomplish was meat on the table. By the way,,,It was rifle season. I used my Ruger M77 Mark 2 in .223. I had my .06 with me but not at the time the deer presented itself.
