I have a 3500 SRW 4x4 with the G56 and 3.73's with a 5.9 and I don't get the mileage that my dad gets with his 2500. I have a best of about 18.6mpg totally unloaded and doing less than 70mph the entire tank on the highway. I am regularly in the 16.xx mpg range and don't really like that. He pulls a solid 20mpg with his NV5600 and 3.55's in his 99 4x4.
I like running the stock michelins but I am gonna have to go up a size or two next time to try and reclaim some RPMs that are out there so I can get better mileage. I am regularly hooked to anywhere from 6k to 11k at this point and I get between 10 and 13 towing. My truck is stock except an amsoil drop in air filter and I just changed the tranny fluid to Amsoil synthetic to see if it would help my shifting.
