i drive a 07.5 3500 4x4 with the 68rfe(auto) 3.73 gears and 35" pro comps. i towed a 8000lb trailer through the rockies for two weeks on vacation this summer and i never felt like i needed 4.10s. it really depend on tire size in the end. my thinking is if you have six gears u can just slip into a lower one when towing. but if your not towing and u like to cruise at 90-100 mph once in a while
then u will wish u had those 3.73 gears to keep the revs down a little. most people wouldnt have 37s as the tire of choice on their tow rig. i would not be happy with the 4.10 personally because with all that tork why limit your top end speed and wast fuel
