A friend of mine is an insurance adjuster arround the state of SD. He has a VW Jetta with the TDI for the 40-50 MPG. A couple weeks ago, he let another friend borrow the Jetta to go on vacation because their vehicle broke down the day before their vacation. Well this guy drives truck for a living and almost all diesel fuel nozzles are green at the pumps arround here. He pulls up to a pump, and grabs the green nozzle and fills the tank, but when he pulls the nozzle out he smell gas. Luckily he had a friend in the town that he was in, so he called him up to bring a hose and buckets.
To make a long story short, after they syphoned ALL of the fuel/gas out of the tank, there was about two inches worth of sludge in the bottom of the buckets. The Jetta has about 85000 miles on it, and he has NEVER put in Biodiesel in that he knows of. Just wanted to let everyone know that petro fuel isn't as clean as we would like to believe.
