IF you are a TDR member, do a search on FASS, you'll see enough problem/failures among displayed threads to restore SOME relative faith in the Carters... There's even a poll of FASS failures over there - and last time I looked, a full THIRD of reporting users had problems/failures of one sort or another - and I seriously doubt even the scorned Carter's are anywhere NEAR that failure rate...

The key issue in failure tracking, is number of failures *per THOUSAND* - so if 3 guys in 10 users report FASS (or any similar aftermarket) issues, that SEEMS lots better than when 100 guys show up with Carter LP issues - UNTIL you stop to realize that's perhaps out of 10 THOUSAND Carter users...
