The idea truck for me would be the Ford F250 4X4 with the 5.9 cummins and the Allison 1000 out of the Duramax trucks. I have owned 2 of the Duramax's. An lb7 305hp motor and the lbz 365hp motor. Both ran great, both had plenty of power, both cost big $$$. This is why I am in a 99 Cummins.. i still wanted a diesel but did not want to pay $40k for one..
I don't know what chevy forum yo uare on but if you think you might want to consider a duramax I would suggest GM-Diesel.com Information, and discussion, related to General Motors line of diesel engines, including the new Duramax, and other diesels in general. or the sister site to this one duramaxforums.com
Both of these sites have good information and the guys there are willing to help just like the ones here. I personaly would not buy a Ford unless I can get it in my configuration. I would buy another duramax in a heartbeat <----- No pun intended.
