210,000 miles on my 68 auto tranny with 3.73's. 4th gear is frikkin awesome in the mountains. Tranny gets warm in city while towing. I would get a cooler with fan for it to cure it and make it last longer.
Stuck in the damn shop, guess I broke a cap where the hard line meets the tranny. Leaked atf everywhere. in the shop now bored, hopefully to hit the road again. Sucks being broke down only 150 miles from the house.
Other then that, tranny works great as long as temps stay below 230f on my truck now, another story.
i do sometimes beat myself in the arse for the manual, but if I can get another 100,000 miles out of my tranny, I will be happy. Crap, im happy I got 210,00 with an avg weight of 20-25,000 pounds behind me with a brick wall above my cab. Quite impressed on this little ole truk!!!!!!!
