2012 vs 2013

Hey I don't know if this has been up here yet. I'm seriously considering getting rid of my 2008 6.7. Should I wait for the 2013? I know it has def fluid. I have also heard that trucks with DEF are getting better mpg of the lot than those without ie. bluetec trucks. Any advice wold be helpful in my descion making process thanks

Yep, but the 2018 are going to be the best looking ones yet, and you 2008 will only be 10 years old and paid for.

My opinion is to wait for the 2013 when they get rid of the NOx Absorber and go with DEF. This will be all around better for the engine. That's what I'm doing even though the wait is a little longer than anticipated. Almost decided to go with the GM but really want the Ram. Most of the people that don't care are the ones deleting everything anyway.

I think 2013s may get projector headlights. Not sure if there will be a xenon option, but that provides a good start for aftermarket HIDs

Don't you just love all the newbs with under 100 posts.... They put such intelligent answers.

Where will you be doing most of your driving...city? Highway? If you do a lot of city driving i would wait. Your going to get the delete cheerleaders to jump in, however thats not an option for everyone. The 12's seem to be running good with very few issues, so it's really your call. I chose a truck with def because I do a ton of city, among a few other factors. And yes a def truck will get better mileage.

Just bringing something different to the table, thats all. The OP wasnt real specific in anything anyway....i could have said something about DEF being implemented or the badges being relocated 3mm

Should be able to get a smoking deal on a 2012 these days. Would equal to an awful lot of maybe fuel savings in the end. Just sayin.

I think you're confused... these trucks don't have a NOx absorber... they use heavy EGR to lower NOx...
