LED Fog Light replacement.

Good Morning fellow truckers.

I would like to replace my factory fog lights with some LED lights. Are there drop in bulb replacements that anyone would recommend? How about full bolt on replacements? which is the preferred method of replacement?

Also would like to do some in cab accent lighting. Color changing LED accent lighting.

I will leave you with an artsy picture of Bessie.

what kind of accent lighting are you looking to do? They make flexible color changing led strips that you can get from amazon, ebay, etc. Its fairly easy to install if you are comfortable wiring.

I had these for awhile and ran all four as my fogs. The Virginia State Troopers didn't like that one too much. I took them out and just run a LED bulb in my factor housings now.

JBS, are you able to change the angle of those cubes? Or are they in a fixed position?

I can recommend these as plug and play:

Fog Lights (9005 will fit in 9145 socket): https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07258X97C

Here are a couple eBay Links for the same thing about $10 cheaper:

Guzzler,

Thank you f the info. When I go to the link you attached, the lights are described on Amazon as an adjustable high beam led headlight for a Chevrolet. I am assuming they are interchangeable between makes and are in fact the appropriate ones for a fog light on a 2016 Ram 3500??

I like the fact that they are adjustable and have a variety of lampshades.

Also, the capacitors are required? Do they keep the truck from throwing up error codes and idiot lights?

Thanks again!!

The descriptions are just for the seller to target a market. 9005 based bulbs work in our fog lights which officially take 9145.

For 2015+ trucks, the capacitors are required. These will appear to work fine without them but if you look at the light through a camera viewfinder (which can view things much faster than the naked eye), you'd see the LED's are actually cutting out for a few milliseconds and then firing back on. It's too fast with the naked eye. The capacitors fix that.
