i just wanted to stop in and say goodbye. I met some good people over here on the Cummins Forum. I traded off my Ram 3500 today on along with my Toyota Tacoma. I traded them in on a new Tundra Pro. I didn't step away from Ram or the Cummins because I didn't like them. I had to decrease my monthly out of pocket since I had a serious back injury leaving me currently unemployable. I hope to one day get back to work and maybe, just maybe get me another Cummins. The good news is I had tremendous equity in both the Ram and Tacoma so I only had to finance 18k of the $48K sticker of the Pro. It's been nice chatting with you guys!
Terribly sorry to hear about your back, hope to god you don't have to have surgery. I would get a reverse hyper or do stemcells before ever getting cut.
Love the truck, definitely on my wish list (along with 50 other cars and trucks). Good luck to you man.
Too late, I had spinal fusion 11 days ago. The good news is I can now walk without a walker or two canes. The bad news is I'm still having pain down the legs if I sit down. I spend 75% of my day laying down. I hope this improves.
It will get better. I had spinal fusion in the fall of 15. It took six months before i could get back to work. And when i say work i mean hard manual labor stuff and i had to take it easy. I do construction. I was walking the same day as the surgery but that sucked. The pain goes away slowly. I had second thoughts about the surgery for months. Now i am glad i did it. Due to the strenuous work healing was slowed a bit. Bone growth takes time. I had a great doctor who specializes in spines. I had two discs damaged so three lower joints were fused. Just wait until you get follow up X-rays. The screw sizes freaked me out. Hang in there. And to those considering the fusion save yourself some agony and DO NOT watch the youtube videos. I was warned and still did. FYI painkillers make huge financial purchases funner.
Our lives have many chapters. You just closed one, but now you can begin to write another one. You may choose to not return to the diesel world. Many of us may leave it. The Toyota is a great truck, enjoy it, and get better. Good luck and take care.
You'll get there! And don't forget you can find a job that puts less stress on your back. I started having back issues about five years ago. I got surgery, I got arthritis so things started looking bleak. I first stepped back outta the field at my construction job. I let my two foreman in on profit sharing so I wouldn't need to babysit. I learned to buy and sell investments and trade stocks and options. I work from home now. I can sit at my desk, stand or lay on the couch.
You'll be back to work before you know it.. Driving another Dodge too!
