Bed rail caps replaced or sprayed

My bed rail caps have been damaged beyond repair or looking good. I walked out of work today and it was flailing around like crazy. My work k9 has successfully busted his way out of 5 plastic kennels so far this year and the metal one I'm borrowing allows him to get his head out just enough to grab my bed rail and chew/rip the cap off. I don't mind line-x the rail and take caps off if it looks okay, but what am I looking st for a replacement?

Ya but the nasty holes in the top rail sucks. Maybe stock rail covers are best. That boy gonna have to learn chew on some suspects instead of your truck.

I don't know if they make after market bed rail covers that fit down in the bed like the factory ones but mine are also getting bad, the drivers side cover is starting to bow up.

I was looking at mine today and thinking about this. My old truck had diamond plate rail covers. I wish I could get a set of those that fit this truck....correctly.

Probably think they are just gonna get shot anyways so why not give it a go.

Kodi I would probably go line X in your case. Reason is the plastic ones probably take abuse from getting beat on better in that its easier to replace them every few years where as the line X is a little harder to properly repair when it gets beat on.

But with a doggy chewing on them the line X would be better theoretically because it is harder to get a tooth hold on. Ofcourse Kongs are suppose to be indestructible and we all know thats a falicy.

Ranch Hand makes metal bed rail caps but I believe they only work if you get a headache rack as well.

Really surprised no one in the after market arena has capitalized on the disaster that are the Ram bed rail and tailgate covers. Like was said, good diamond plate that replace the plastic and bolt down with some sort of expanding clip through the holes that are already there would be pretty awesome. An aftermarket shop has told me the only thing out there right now just glue or tape down? Is that right?

I'm thinking line x and just using plastic push buttons where the holes are. I think the bed liner could be built up enough look decent with the body line for the bed rail cap
