RAM 2500 has made it onto a "Top 10" list

Top 10 least reliable vehicles, according to that absolute joke of a magazine, consumer reports.

https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/pictur...CAD-07-10aaj5e

Guess they missed my truck, since it has been one of my most reliable vehicles ever.

If you drop an egg from the top of a building and it doesn't break, that doesn't mean eggs are indestructible. It means you got lucky. Not trying to bash our trucks, I love mine, but there may be some truth there.

From CR;
"the heavy-duty Ram 2500 pickup suffered from steering vibrations, troublesome 4WD components and wonky emissions controls and sensors, according to Consumer Reports"

Wouldn't the 3500 suffer the same? They don't say which model year(s).

And yet, there are STILL "junk" 1st gens out there, reliably doing work, day in and day out. Fast forward another 30 years, and the same will be said about the "unreliable" 2017 models. And there will probably be another worthless top 10 list like this still calling them unreliable. And my 63 year old self (oof!) will say the same thing....

There IS a point at which with all the electronics and emissions devices, stuff happens more. Name of the game when we have to have warm butts and touchscreen doodads.

You know for a truck that is continuously put down as being junk and falling apart... Take notice the next time you are out driving around and look at how many second gen trucks you see on the road today, not just diesels either.., lots of half to gassers! Now how many 94-01 Fords or Chevys do you see? Not nearly as many as the Ram.

Dodge owners are better handymen. Ford owners have enough cash to trade up.

I totally agree with you. See way more 2nd gen dodges in my area.

I've seen multiple stories like this that shows the author knows nothing about what they are writing about.
I've see reports that say the 2500 has these problems but the 3500 doesn't.

This to often the case , a guy who is known for his sports car knowledge is often asked to review a truck. One such writer years ago , said his truck wouldn't be good at heel and tow ......no kidding !

Only a truck guy will understand utility is a quality all it's own.

Wonky emissions, very odd wording. And "steering vibrations, troublesome 4WD components" out of all the posts on many different forums I have researched over the last year, have not seen those come up as even close to common complaints. Not sure I have even seen them. Complaints about the 2500 rear end vibrations, but steering vibrations on a 2500 I missed those complaints.
