So here's the scoop! Every single time I shut my truck down and sit in it for a little while I hear the following ...
Vents closing one by one , seems normal from what I saw when I was searching..
But I also here a sound that never stops! It sounds like R2D2 is in my dash!
It's a high pitch ( sounds like a capacitor charging) sound, then about 30 seconds of silence, the the sound again...
Sorta sounds like a dialup connection too?
Well I don't have the manual pages that explain it it detail but I've heard electronic noises from the UnConnect system and the hvac system works the blend doors too, I assume to let in some fresh air from time to time. Not to mention just opening the door wakes up a lot of modules....
Yep! Even notice when you change the stations, you get the beginning of the songs ?
As long as the system has been on long enough, when you change radio stations
the songs will start at the beginning. If you change it again and go back, the song
will not restart at the beginning, but will be at real time. The audio system uses
the hard drive as a buffer and stores audio data. Ever try the replay feature ?
My 17 tradsman does the same thing, and it has the 5.0 uconnect in it. My wife's 16 sahara does the same thing, it has the nav. unit in it. Must be a Chrysler thing. I figured it was blend doors and such, now I just get out and go inside lol
It's definitely got some type of hard drive. It will allow you to pause live radio (satellite) for 30min IIRC.
