Hey folks, I ordered my truck with the cold weather group, which should've included the block heater cord, but I can't find it anywhere.
Dealer was useless, didn't know jack.
Does it come from the factory tucked up inside? Where should I look for this thing?
The truck definitely came with the cold weather option... both the build sheet and window sticker show it, and I do have the winter blanket, but definitely can't find the cord for the life of me.
Should be tucked up behind the bumper behind the passenger side tow hook. The actual heater element is in the block behind the oil filter. You can look there for the cord coming off of it and trace it out to the bumper if necessary. If there isn't a cord coming off of it and you have the cold weather group, the dealer needs to get you the cord. All Cummins come with the actual heater.
You can add this Mod to your truck so you don't bang your knuckles in the cold when you disconnect the extension cord this winter. Easy install. Took me about 30 minutes. You do have to shave to fit on the bottom plastic cover of the truck.
Geno's Garage is hands down one of the BEST resources for ALL of us Ram owners and a site to save in your favorites for sure! Awesome Customer Service and a fabulous bank of knowledge on anything should you ever need them to help diagnose and fix these small things in life! Glad you were able to find it after all.
I simply zip tie my cord up under the bumper and snip it open for length come winter time when this feature becomes needed! Keep on rolling my man!
No doubt they have great customer service, but they are always higher on filters etc then most, plus their shipping costs. I have found much better prices elsewhere .
Does anybody have the genos plug with an LED light bar bracket on the front tow hooks? Will they work together or is there clearance issues? Im looking to put a 20inch LED bar on tow hook brackets
