RAM reveals future truck plans…Major update coming in 2018.
It looks like the RAM Heavy Duty Trucks will be getting a minor update in 2016 and a major update in 2018. :chicken:
"...Ram did lay out its schedule for updates. The brand’s 1500 pickup will be getting a minor update in 2015 and a major update in 2017.
When it comes to heavy duties, Ram’s 2500 and 3500 will receive a minor update in 2016 and a major update in 2018."

I normally would go longer but I am on my second 2014 with a vibration issue and don't know how long I can deal with it....I am also exhausted with dealing with it....

I know it's all personal taste but I can't stand the western looking crap! It reminds me of the IH 86 series interior! They should have done a black limited!
2018- even more vibrations. Under hood mounted camera monitoring any mods done. Dead pedal time increases from 3 seconds to 10 seconds. New 15" radio doesn't even turn on. The ECM sends a signal to your insrance company that provides your driving habbits. Ram adds another emissions fluid to add on top of the def, which does even more harm to the motor. I can't wait
I hope they get rid of the guy who thought it would be sweet to cobble together the track bar bracket like it was an afterthought. I wouldn't touch the new trucks, they are built like a bunch of drunks threw together a chassis on a friday night.
Don't hold your breath on that. The closest thing to that you might see, i say MIGHT, is the long hauler. They claim they are building it but i also heard that about the fifth wheel tailgate and its a no show. I just hate to see the price tag on that… a 5500 mega cab long bed with another foot for a fuel tank and they claim if they build it it will only be in the top trim levels. I see $100k?
They can do all they want, this is probably my last 2500 diesel. In 5-7 years I'll be doing a 1500 and a smaller TT. I just hope all the electronics on the 2014 last that long. More power is nice but better MPG would be better.
Actually I was told you keep the factory warranty with the conversion at precision i think it was. It was one of them i know for sure lets you keep the warranty.
one thing I want to know is by 18 is the ram sd still going to continue using cummins or switch to fiat and if its sticking to cummins will it be there new motor that will not require all the emissions junk on it as the gov as changed to wanting better mpg now??
what info do you have that the epa is letting up on emissions in favor of mpg???? I have been engineering diesel engines for 15yrs and never heard such craziness.
ford switched to al and instead of saving weight to improve mpg they made things heavier to tow more. as if pulling 30k lbs isnt good enough lol.
Yes I suspect the BIG change will be switching to the fiat 6.7l. I am hoping with the better scr fiat is using in europe that they can get rid of EGR. Which would be a performance and mpg booster.
they already have engines with NO DPF or EGR on the off highway tractor engines. Which is light years ahead of Deere etc.
How do I know? Lets just say I am friends with marchionne...
I tried searching but haven't found much everything that I had read was from early last year and the most recent thing that suggested nothing will happen between ram and cummins is that they had been celebrating the 25 years and that they were in good business so who knows
