Well i got it all done now. Shibby delete is in with my glacier bypass hose and the 180 degree stat. JUst wanted to note that this was an EASY install. Took all of 2 hours with clean up and a nice little bracket i made to hold th standpipe. Dont notice any difference in performance but the stat makes a nice temp and never goes aboce 185 now. If anyone is interested in seeing some pics of my install just let me know

Yeah I would like to see this bracket that you made also. I guess I will have to change out my t-stat once I get the DPF off the truck.

Hopefully I will be able to get it all done soon. Still saving my pennies to get it all done at once.

I used a vacand fill tool to install my coolant so no venting needed. I used a gates 180' stat from genos #GATES-33956 i like it and is cake to install. Bracket isnt anything special but i had a fan shorud drop down from my old trucks body lift and trhew it on uploading pics now

Thanks! Yes I believe they are a 190. To add to my post a little I loaded the 175hd agressive turbo tune and don't notice too much difference. Anyone else running the HD yet?

More questions: did the hose and aluminum fitting with o-ring come with the delete kit? If not who makes it and what is prt number. Sorry to be a pain in the with info requests. I have not removed Cooler yet and want all parts in my possesion so i can go ahead and do it in the next week or 2.

Have not run the HD tune yet. I'm running no power level still, doing lots of towing on the weekends, sure like the fuel economy now.

I'm glad the t-stat helps the engine temps. Seaking of temps i had my tranny up to 257 degrees F towing heavy up a steep gravel road/trail doing such slow speeds i had no air flow except for fan being on, tranny never missed a beat which was nice. Engine temp was up to 220 degrees, fan was roaring and truck ran beautifully, a little hot but my Alisson/duramax ran super hot up same road and did it about 50 times over 3 years and no problems. I will be using the 180 t-stat when i do the cooler delete to help when i am puuling hard going at a snails pace.

how will a 180 t-stat work in the winter?

Your engine will be a full heat including the cab sooner than the 200* stat currently installed.

O ok i see what ya mean now. I used a airlift which is a vac and fill tool to put the coolant back in the truck. All it does is pull a vacum on the cooling system and draws it in. Cummins and navistar use this and is truely the best method cause it doesnt leave any air in the system at all. Its really good when you have coolers to which is the reason they tell you that

so, 2 years later, are you still digging the 180 stat? What's the skinny?

I guess I will give it a try, just ordered the p/n you gave from Geno's. It will be going in when I take the cooler off, 2 birds 1 stone so to speak.
