How does a tuner (listed in title) increase horsepower and torque and save mpg as well? They list this product as a fuel savers with 5 level of tunes.

Didn't want a huge discussion, but most guys have their trucks deleted, I plan to leave my truck stock exhaust right now and just select a tune. Simply, can you increase hp and save mpg? Is it a noticeable difference with dpf and egr intact?
