Linetrash55, can you tell me what the GVWR is on your 2012 CC dually? Thanks.

Unless I misunderstood, the GVW has only gone up 300#, from a GVWR of 12,200#( like mine), to 12,500#....at least that was my understanding. The GCWR went all the way to 30,000#, but GVWR only went up 300#...doesn't make a lot of sense....

Thanks NC Hauler. I was hoping for at least 13,000 to match the Chevy. Just like you say, it doesn't make a lot of sense that the GCWR went up so much, but not the GVWR.

Its because they wanted more towing capacity. Apparently they didn't care that the payload capacity is still at the bottom of the heap. Also, AFAIK they didn't increase the size of the wheel bearings or increase spring rate in the rear end so it makes sense to me that what they did didn't effect payload.

Maybe someone can clarify, the new HO with Max Tow is supposed to have a 30,000lb GCWR (on select models). On the Hurt Locker Test, they had a 2011.5 3500 CC DRW HO Max Tow with a GCWR of only 29,000 (if you read the side by side comparison on first page). So is the 30K GCW only on the regular cab DRW? Can you not get the 30K GCW on the CC DRW? And if not I guess you lose the extra 1,000lbs in the extra weight of CC. Sure wish you could get the Max Tow on the Mega Cab DRW, but when I called Chrysler they said it's not available on Mega Cab.
