Fuel filter change

2012 6. 7

Decided to do a fuel filter change. I just got the truck and wanted to be sure I had the right fuel filter in there.

See below what pulled out. Glad I changed it. Not a Mopar filter.

Thoughts??

Appears to be a Purolator fuel filter.

Not sure how many miles are on it, but doesnt look like its caught much lol.

I usually stick to the Fleetguard FS53000 and change every 10k.

I did the same thing when I bought mine, changed the oil/filter and fuel filter so I know it had the right ones.

Only had 4,000 miles on it. Hopefully it didn't harm anything.

Both the Mopar filter and the Fleetguard FS53000 are Nanonet 5/3micron filters. Really you're just getting into finding the cheaper of the two.

Mopar version. I just wanted the correct filter in it. Apparently the Purolator is junk.

Mopar doesn't make filters. Fleetguard(aka Cummins Filtration) makes the filter for Mopar and Racor makes the chassis mounted 2013+ filter for Mopar. Only difference between them one goes down one line to have Fleetguard/Racor painted on it and the other goes down another line to have Mopar painted on it.

2014 6.7L - Deleted and tuned by Hardway Performance (EFIbyRyan).

Racor's are top notch as well. I used to own a 2002 F350 with the 7.3 Power Stroke (made for Ford by International) great motor. The fuel filter was a Racor made for Ford.

Oh. No got ya. Yes, I only have the one fuel filter under the hood. I do not have the secondary filter on the frame.
