hard starting and codes p 0602 + p 0480 please help

I have just bought my first cummins (03 common rail) three months ago and ran perfect for the first while then the starting times seemed to be getting longer and i was told that it was my lift pump failing so i changed it out for a bd performance lift pump that mounts to the frame but it didnt seem to change any thing and it is just getting worse and worse taking up to ten seconds to start. i then found how to check codes with the key and found codes p 0602 and p0480 and im wondering if they could be the cause of the hard start. runs great when started and no power loss yet is hard to compare seeing how i have only ever owned one cummins. any input would be muchly appreciated-thanks

There are piles and piles of threads on this. Use the search button and you will see. could be loose fuel rail 19mm nut, fca, prv, injectors, etc and the other threads will explain in detail how to check each...
