Anyone know what coolant to use for an 04 Dodge Ram 3500 4X4 5.9 Turbo Diesel?
Also, I am having problems with my defrost. It seems whatever setting I have the knob set, it only blows air from the vents in front of you, but not the vents to defrost. Any tips will be helpful, thanks!
There is a HOAT coolant that you should be using in the diesel. You can get the Mopar brand @ the stealership or Auto Zone under the name VALVOLINE:tm: ZEREX:tm: G-05:tm:ANTIFREEZE / COOLANT
If you completely drained and flushed you can run the regular old green coolant. Personally I would run the HOAT because it last a whole lot longer and I hate changing coolant.
Thanks ,, yes so do I but I hate changing a heater core even worse . I've seen several heater cores gummed up with the long life stuff , just like good ole green stuff that's been in use way too long.
So I prefer to go with standard green coolant and change n flush every two years . Just a personal preference
