255/85R16 has the benefit of fitting your stock wheels.... but you want at least a 7" wide wheel for 285/75R16, and 8" for 315/75R16. Kelly tires (goodyear) are quite affordable.

IMO, get a 35" tire on there or switch to a 3.55 axle.

I ended up getting the Kendas. They fit well (I don't think I could have gone a hair larger). Fairly smooth on the highway, and I don't notice any more noise than I did before. Pretty happy with them so far. In order to get a full contact patch, I am running 48 PSI front and 35 rear. Total including local mounting and balancing was $635
